Internal Audit

The Key functions would include

  • Monitoring the expenditure of the Council in line with the budgetary provisions and Financial Regulations
  • Carrying out special Audit Assignments
  • Facilitating and evaluating the Risk Management Process
  • Producing and submitting Internal Audit Reports to relevant authorities
  • Evaluating and reviewing Financial Internal Controls
  • Executing Financial Auditing, Revenue Collections for Accountability purposes
  • Carrying out the implementation of Audit recommendations
  • Controlling receipt custody and utilization of financial resources
  • Facilitating financial and operational procedures to ensure value for money
  • Auditing procurement and payments in line with accountability and financial procedures and regulations
  • Conducting manpower audits in line with the approved budget and work plans.

Improving district infrastructure is essential for enabling economic and social progress. This includes investments in roads, bridges, public facilities, and utilities, creating a solid foundation for the district’s development.

Increasing accessibility to safe water and sanitation services is a fundamental step toward improving public health and quality of life. Efforts in this area focus on ensuring clean water sources and proper sanitation facilities for all residents.

Elevating the level of basic education is a key objective to empower the community’s future generations. This involves initiatives to enhance the quality of education, increase enrollment rates, and promote lifelong learning opportunities.

Providing accessible healthcare services is crucial, with a specific focus on addressing gender concerns and supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS. These services aim to promote health equity and provide the necessary care and support for vulnerable populations.

Promoting and addressing critical environmental concerns is essential for sustainable development. This includes efforts to protect natural resources, mitigate climate change, and preserve biodiversity for the well-being of current and future generations.

Promoting adequate environmental interventions in the district involves implementing practical measures to address environmental challenges. These actions may include waste management, reforestation, and sustainable land use practices to ensure a greener, healthier environment for all.
