Households involved in agriculture

Masaka District comprise of 176,882 households, of which 131,565 are agricultural households and this constitutes of 74.9% (Report on the Agricultural Module, Piggy-Backed onto the Population and Housing Census (PHC), 2002 by Uganda Bureau of Statistics Published in September, 2004. This sector needs to be supported so that agricultural production is enhanced and income levels for farmers streamlined. The support could be in terms of providing improved animal and crop varieties.
